The not so hoodie Hoodie Vest - a collar tutorial

I absolutely love a good Hoodie but I know its nice to mix it up a bit too. So for all of you who have purchased the Fat Red Bird Hoodie Vest pattern, I have created a free collar for you to download so that you can get even more variation out of vest.

So here goes...

Download and print the following PDF file (remember to ensure your print scale is at 100%):
Fat Red Bird Collar

Skip the Hood Sewing Instructions in the Fat Red Bird Hoodie Vest pattern.

Cut two collar pieces. With right sides facing, stitch the outer curved edge and sides of the collar  using a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Clip the corners and trim.

Turn right side out, pushing out the corners. Press. Top stitch the outer curved edge and sides of the collar 1/4 inch from edge.

Continue with Vest Body Sewing Instructions. From Step 2 of Assembling the Vest Instructions omit the hood and replace with collar as shown in following pic.

Continue with the remaining instructions remembering that when the pattern refers to the hood, omit and replace with collar instead.

Stand back and admire your Fat Red Bird Hoodie Vest with a little less Hoodie.
