Inside Issue 8 of One Thimble - Amber Swing Dress

I had the fabulous pleasure of being part of this One Thimble issue by releasing my Fat Red Bird Fedora, but pouring over the magazine through the draft process sent my sewjo on over drive. I didn't want to be behind the computer, I wanted to be sewing up some of the super cute patterns I had before me.
We're off on holidays soon so my time was limited, so I needed a quick sew. The Amber Swing Dress by 1 Puddle Lane jumped out immediately. I had a little bit of this cotton jersey in my stash (just a little Spotlight find a few years back which sold me with mustardy colours), just enough to go a sleeveless option. I am not a ruffles kinda gal though so I decided to go a bit boho.
Some little snips along the hem line and a bit of knotting, transported me to a bohemian world where everything is adorned with gorgeous fringed edges. The next one I make for my big girl I will make the slits a little longer & add beads I think....give it a jingle when it swings.

Next on my agenda is some succulents and flowers from the Coco Flower Crown pattern by Molly and Mama which hopefully I can share in the next couple of weeks.

If you haven't already checked out what is on offer within the gorgeous E-Zine...click on THIS LINK to have a closer look.

    1. Thx Jen...I am a super lazy sewer...so anything to avoid hemming properly. I want to do little timber beads on the next one but I know my big kiddy will want pink. I am totally doing a couple of tee length ones though using the same pattern...gosh I need some more time :-)

  2. Hi Renee,

Thanks for doing a blog post about my Amber Swing Dress pattern and I really love what you've done with the hem. Those little tassels look fabulous.
